Cosmo Bachelor Bash 2010 tonight!

Tonight is the night for Cosmo Bachelor Bash 2010 at the World Trade Center. Gorgeous hunks. Rock-hard six-pack abs. Half-naked celebrities. What more could a girl (or swooning gay man) wish for? Yes, the annual event is intended for a strictly female audience but who’s to stop the rest when it’s the latter who can make sensational coverages (in print or online) of the same. But the question is, have you already scored tickets for the much-awaited fashion party of the year? Don’t ask me back because I’m still waiting for mine to arrive at the last minute! LOL! ;-)

Want to watch the original “Temptation Island” before the remake comes out by June?

Before the much-awaited remake of Temptation Island hits the multiplexes next month, why not watch the original cult classic which inspired the new version? The quartet characters of Azenith Briones, Dina Bonnevie, Jennifer Cortez and Bambi Arambulo will be given fresh takes by new leads Marian Rivera, Heart Evangelista, Lovi Poe and Solenn Heussaff, respectively. What’s more the latter will have names made famous by past Joey Gosienfiao movies such as Christina, Virginia P., Pura and Serafina. The four will share the screen with leading men Aljur Abrenica, Tom Rodriguez, Mikael Daez (who took over the role originally meant for Paulo Avelino after the latter contracted pneumonia just before the shoot in Ilocos Norte), John “Sweet” Lapus and Rufa Mae Quinto. Director Chris Martinez is pressured to measure up to the campiness of the original, while injecting modern concepts to the same. I wonder how the giant friend chicken and ice cream cone will be shown because those are integral parts during the desert scenes when everyone is starting to freak out due to hunger.

I’m really hyped up for the remake, just as the others who grew up relishing the first in their younger years. Watch now! ;-)

Joey Gosiengfiao’s Temptation Island (2011) opens today!

The day has arrived. The remake of Temptation Island opens nationwide today. If you’re a big fan of the original cult classic, watch this one to see how Director Chris Martinez pays homage to the late mother creator, Joey Gosiengfiao. And if you’re just plain curious, check it out because I’m pretty sure it will be an all-out fun flick to spend two hours of your time with. ;-)

The Invasion of the CosmoMen

The Cosmopolitan Bachelor Bash 2012 was successfully staged last night at the World Trade Center. Hot male specimens – both celebrities and models alike – took to the stage and elicited endless shrieks and applause from the audience made up of adoring females and clapping gay men. While most of them were disappointed that Paulo Avelino was a no-show (the guy is in the U.S. for some ABS-CBN shows), the rest more than made up for the absence. And how!

“My Husband’s Lover” premieres on GMA-7 tonight!

image It is not wont in this blog’s nature to vigorously promote a new teleserye premiering on Philippine TV. But I will make a rare exception with “My Husband’s Lover” because never before has such a daring theme been used full-blown for an entire season. Love triangles of the two-men-fighting-over-the-same-woman type come and go. But not the man-and-woman-fighting-over-the-same-man spin. Given the small screen-sensitive subject matter, the MTRCB has approved its airing with a rating of SPG (Strict Parental Guidance) and a late primetime sched. I’d like to see how far they will push the free-tv-envelope, so to speak.

“My Husband’s Lover” is created by Suzette Doctolero (of “Amaya” and “Indio” fame) and directed by Dominic Zapata. It stars Dennis Trillo (the gay lover), Carla Abellana (the wife) and (ex-ABS-CBN talent) Tom Rodriguez (the gay husband) together with a powerhouse cast led by Chanda Romero, Glydel Mercado, Victor Basa, Roi Vinzon, Pancho Magno, Bettina Carlos, Karel Marquez, Kevin Santos and (the TV acting comeback of) Ms. Kuh Ledesma. It will premiere tonight on GMA-7 at around 9:45PM.

Everything is set for the MWP2013 finals!

This is how the Solaire Grand Ballroom will look like tomorrow night.

And these will be the crowns of MWP2013 and her four Princesses.

The Coronation Night of Miss World Philippines 2013 is almost set.

The venue will be neatly arranged like the photo above which is inside the huge Grand Ballroom of Solaire Resort and Casino. GMA-7 will be airing and Rico Gutierrez directing.

The hosts are ready, with KC Montero, Victor Basa and Carla Abellana onstage. MW2011 Gwen Ruais will be the anchor. Special guest performers will be Dennis Trillo and Tom Rodriguez of “My Husband’s Lover” fame.

And one of the 25 Official Candidates will come out victorious. She will be instantly swept off her feet for the nearing departure date for Indonesia.

And I am excited. Are you, dear readers? :-)

cosmo1 While we are all busy watching and awaiting the results of the Miss World 2013 Top Model event last night, a different kind of eye candy event was happening at the World Trade Center in Pasay City. And don’t be surprised why a flood of good-looking men is suddenly distracting your attention from beauty pageants. I’ve been featuring the bash since 2009 – only one of a few male-studded events I give in to – so the 2013 edition won’t go unnoticed.

The annual Cosmo Bachelor Bash got underway without a hitch as this year’s yummiest hunks and celebrities strutted the runway to the total shrieking adulation of the audience – predominantly girls and gays (including peppermints for sure). The likes of Matteo Guidicelli, Alden Richards, Tom Rodriguez, Dennis Trillo, JC de Vera, brothers Rodjun and Rayver Cruz, Sam Concepcion and Aljur Abrenica fulfilled a good bit of the spectators’ fantasies while still leaving more to imagine about in their own private moments. ;-)

For those who missed watching it at the Araneta Coliseum last October 12, the My Husband’s Lover concert will air tonight on GMA-7 on SNBO at around 10:00 PM or right after Imbestigador.

The entire cast of the hit pink teleserye – which ended just last Friday – will perform song, dance and whatever-have-you numbers that will either amuse or make you swoon with delight.

Watch out for the duets of Tom Rodriguez and Dennis Trillo. ;-)

image Last Friday, an exclusive preview was held for the Press to drum up “The Naked Truth”, the Bench Denim and Underwear Show scheduled on September 19 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.

Present were some of the celebrities who will walk the ramp wearing the latest collection in the clothing brand’s OJ Denim and Bench Body lines. The likes of actors Tom Rodriguez, Dennis Trillo, Martin del Rosario and Dominic Roque graced the event, as well as singer and indie performer Markki Stroem, athlete Arnold Van Opstal, international model Allison Harvard and Miss World 1st Runner-up Gwen Ruais.

The show will try to raise the bar for 2014 by pushing the envelope in the show’s concept and revelations. And it would be an understatement to say that this is going to be the hottest ticket to get a hold of.

So if I were you, I’d start shopping (splurging if you will) at Bench to receive an invite. ;-)

Trust Ms. Cory Quirino to fill the SM Mall of Asia Arena for the Coronation Night of Miss World Philippines 2014 on October 12. While the Official Candidates have not yet been announced – let alone screened – she will definitely undertake to make this year her biggest production for the nationals. With the outgoing titleholder being Miss World 2013 Megan Young, there is simply no room for a ho-hum conduct of the finals.

And with GMA-7’s help, the pageant will definitely get a boost in terms of scope and coverage. Do I see Mikael Daez (Megan’s rumored boyfriend) solo-hosting? I doubt it, but if he is joined by Tom Rodriguez and Carla Abellana, why not?

An army of scantily-clad models invaded the Arena

Let’s be honest.

Nobody braved the big crowds at the SM MOA Arena last just to watch celebrities and models wearing the latest in denim fashion. Bench knows – and You & I know – that everyone is looking forward to the more daring souls who stripped to their skimpiest bikinis and underwear and walked the huge stage with pride and a whiff of Eau de Toilette behind their ears.

And the roars and excitement couldn’t be more felt when hot male celebrities like Tom Rodriguez and the first-ever-underwear-exposing Dennis Trillo took to the ramp and raised the temperature to boiling levels.

Of course, nobody can’t deny Bench veteran Jake Cuenca the spotlight in wearing the practically-nothing-to-hide garter-filled-with-just-a-small-pouch thingy that was to be his signature curtain call before retiring from the once-every-two-years affair. His body may not be in the best shape, but his confidence (and exhibition-savvy) onstage remains unparalleled.

Miss World 2013 Megan Young has now officially entered a new phase in her life as a celebrity. After the recent announcement of the cast members of GMA-7’s remake of MariMar, she has been ushered in to the role of a Primetime lead starrer that will pair her with Hunk actor Tom Rodriguez.

It remains to be seen how she will approach the role made famous by Mexican actress Thalia and the beautiful Marian Rivera. But based on the video clip below, she still wants to inject her own brand of charm for the role so as not to be totally compared with her predecessors. She will definitely watch the original and the first local remake, but just so that she will get a good feel of what the role will fully require of her.
